With the closing of the year 2019 comes many exciting changes for the City of Sacramento’s Community Development Department!
Have you ever found yourself away from the office needing zoning details for a property? The launch of a new Land Development Lookup Application allows customers to access and search for zoning information on the go easily.
Building permit fees may now be paid via electronic check online. Please note that is in addition to the existing methods of payment offered.
Over the past few years, drones have evolved from their military origins and proved useful in the business world. The City of Sacramento’s Community Development Department has followed suit, breaking ground with this innovative drone technology, and announced a Drone Inspection Program! In part due to a projected increase in solar panel installations on residential homes due to a new state requirement, CDD carefully developed this Drone Inspection program. All CDD Drone Operators will be trained, abide by FAA regulations, track and log every flight, and will only capture still photos rather than video recordings. Initially, the Drone Inspection Program will only be used to inspect solar panel installations.
Keep In Mind:
With the holidays rapidly approaching, be mindful that the business hours of building departments are often affected. The City of Sacramento’s Public Counter will be closed on December 24th and 25th, December 31st, and January 1st 2020.
Lastly, the 2019 California Building Standards Code, published this past July, will be adopted on January 1st, 2020. If you have a project in the pipeline that you would like reviewed under the current 2016 California Building Code, the project must be submitted by December 23rd, accepted, and have the plan review submittal fees paid by December 27th. Let the permitting experts at National Permit Expediters help you beat the rush and make your submittal in time, well before the deadlines!
